In essence, I am a Dance Teacher. I want to empower people through movement and dance, with well-being at the centre.

I have trained in dance at a variety of locations with a selection of different schools + companies. In 2009 I trained at Urdang Academy in London, before leaving to enrol at the University of Surrey to study for a BA (hons) in Dance and Culture Studies. This I completed with a placement at the Birmingham Royal Ballet in the Department for Learning in my third year.

After graduating I embarked on a PGCE in Secondary Dance at the University of Exeter, graduating with Qualified Teacher Status and shortly after became a Dance Subject Leader at a small secondary school, where I taught for over 6 years.
Alongside teaching at the school, I began teaching Contemporary dance classes to Adults in 2022.

In 2023, I left my teaching post after taking a hard look at the struggles of the job at the present climate.
I evolved to deliver a number of adult classes during the evening and weekends in a variety of styles including Ballet, Jazz, and Barre. And I also started working at Swindon Dance, which has been a joy!
Moving from working within education to the community setting has been a huge change and ultimately the right one.

So why F.E.W? Growing up and being surrounded by strong women has made me want to give back - it’s my way of saying thank-you to all the beautiful women I have known and seen. And I’ve seen too many of those women, and collectively feel small and under appreciated. This can be from the tolls of society pressure, from intergated sexism or from losing their confidence when they reach a certain point in their life. I want to support women by opening up a space for them to explore, develop and feel their own power.

Natasha Johansen

Mental Health Group Facilitator & Massage Therapist

Credentials:
• MA Psychology
• Bsc Psychology
• Diploma in Holistic Massage

My name is Natasha (Tash/Tasha). I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself...

I am a qualified and registered Social Worker currently in the charity sector. My background is mental health and I could bore people for days about my views, experience and interests on the matter, so I will stop myself for now!

I fully respect the work that people dedicate themselves to in supporting people with lived experience, but I think that often we concentrate on an individual having mental health issues, rather than how toxic societal structures are and how they are making us ill. I am hugely interested in ancient wisdom on health, particularly shamanic perspectives and how connection with each other and nature can alleviate a whole lot of suffering. This led me to finding other practices to support people.

I am just about to finish a Diploma in Holistic massage with the Bristol College of Massage. Bodywork and nurturing touch is so missing from our current support structures, and I think we could all benefit. My passion is women's health, and I am hoping to create a business that uses massage and bodywork to help women of all ages when going through different life stages.

It's great to meet you ❤️ Peace and love x

Sam Silvester

Nutrition & Wellness Consultant

Sam’s specialities:
Nutrition & Wellness Consultant
Reiki Healing
Meditation & Sound Healing

Sam will be delivering a Sound Bath during the Retreat in October and we can’t wait to have her!

“After many years of working with clients and focusing on diet, I noticed more and more, how stress is beneath many illnesses, so it was a natural progression to offer both Nutrition and Health Coaching, plus Energetic Medicine using Meditation, Sound Therapy and Reiki, giving a fully integrated and holistic approach to health.

I practice what I preach and live a very healthy life, but I have faced many health challenges, and so I understand what it is like to be unwell.
After seeing how I could overcome my health problems with food and lifestyle, I knew that my mission was to help other people and show them how, with the right conditions, our bodies will restore themselves back to good health and vitality.”
